Trauma & Mindfulness
During periods of high levels of stress and uncertainty its quite common to develop sensitivities or different degrees of trauma. During this informative workshop, licensed social worker and yogi Emily Chappell will be teaching various mindfulness techniques that can be used to help restore balance.
Emily Chappell became a social worker after graduating from SUNY Stony Brook in 2001. She achieved a Bachelors degree in Psychology and became a registered yoga instructor from Darshana. Emily was approved by the NYS Board of Education to provide CEU’s to fellow Social Workers, including a workshop on Trauma after studying Trauma Sensitive Yoga at Kripalu. She currently provides clinical services at a private practice, Suffolk County Probation (21 years), and, most recently on the frontlines of Huntington Hospital.
