ABOUT THE PROGRAM
We welcome complete beginners as well as seasoned practitioners to Darshana's 200 hour yoga teacher training program. This training is for students who are looking to become teachers as well as those who are just interested in deepening their practice. Yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, size, limitations or beliefs. All of the skills, knowledge, love and compassion of our teachers are funneled into this comprehensive program. The sacred teachings of the east have been made available to everyone in the most current and practical applications.

During this training you will be working with an intimate group of fun loving and supportive yogis. Many past graduates have reported making wonderful friendships with their classmates and they cherished the time they had together. There will be twelve instructors in Darshana's 200 hr yoga teacher training . Each of them have been hand-picked for their unique talents and skills in specific areas. This program includes the following:

Anatomy & Physiology
The body systems covered in this course are the Musculoskeletal, Nervous, Circulatory, Respiratory, Digestive, Immune and Endocrine. Learn the components of each and how these systems function, the effects of stress on each system and the benefits of yoga and teaching considerations for each. Some topics covered are posture and alignment, balance, pain, as well as asana and pranayama beneficial to each system.

Vinyasa Yoga
In this section of the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training we will explore the basic principles of teaching a vinyasa flow class which will include: - Defining vinyasa and its role in a yoga class - Linking breath to movement - Lines of the body and how they interact in the flow - Sequencing postures in a basic vinyasa class - Class timing, pacing and music - Considerations for beginners The training will consist of a combination of lecture, experiential learning and presentations. You will leave this training with the confidence and information to lead a well-balanced basic vinyasa class.

Bhagavad Gita
In this workshop, participants will have an opportunity to learn and understand the basic teachings found in one of India's most classical sacred texts. Karma-phala (fruits of action), the structure of sacrifice, Gunas acting on gunas (selflessness), and the indwelling reality (the Self) are a few of the topics that will be discussed. Moreover, the workshop will move with Arjuna (the protagonist of the Bhagavad Gita) from fear, doubt and confusion to fearlessness, certainty and Love.

Yoga Nidra Meditation
How would it feel to have more freedom in your life? Do you find yourself getting stuck in old patterns, feeling frustrated and uncertain in how to move your life forward? Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that uncovers the core obstacle and deeply held beliefs that holds your life back. Through a progression of meditative sequences pain and suffering releases. Ultimately, living a life that is in alignment with your own true nature occurs. This weekend workshop will include: - A power point presentation explaining the science of Yoga Nidra and how it works. - Several meditation practice sessions - How to teach Yoga Nidra in a group or privates sessions.

Pre-natal Yoga
Learn the skills needed to teach the prenatal student. Topics covered include: appropriate asanas according to individual trimesters, pranayama, contraindications, props, emotional considerations and relaxation techniques This allows one to connect deeper with their Inner Peace while being pregnant.

Yoga Demos
By the time demos start, you will have already gained enough skills and confidence to get in front of the room. Everyone will take turns teaching, practicing and learning. This is a wonderful opportunity for growth.

Bhakti Yoga
Kirtan is the calling, the crying, the reaching across infinite space - digging into the heart's deepest well to touch and be touched by the divine presence. Kirtan is part of an ancient form of Yoga known as Bhakti, or the Yoga of devotion. Together we chant sanskrit mantras that have been passed down through the ages. Kirtan is for all people of all faiths and religions

Foundations Of Yoga
Master yogi, registered nurse and massage therapist Regina Chaeli will be teaching all about the body and how it works in different yoga postures. Learn how to adapt yoga to your specific body type as well as others. You will experience and learn many of the standing, kneeling, balancing, prone, lying and seated postures.

Chair Yoga
Chair yoga is a practice that multiple populations can benefit from. During this program you will learn how to modify a typical hatha yoga class so that it can be performed from a chair. - Learn what populations can benefit the most - Learn how to modify poses for a chair practice - Learn how to modify within each class to accommodate various levels of function - Experience a mini chair yoga class - Learn how to sequence and plan a chair yoga class and suggestions for implementing a class in your class.

Yoga Sutras Of Patanjali
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is a yogic text that reveals the ancient teaching and wisdom of the yoga system. These sutras teach us about human experience, how to awaken to our true nature and end suffering. In this training program you will learn: - Guidelines for ethical living - How to be effective in any circumstance - The nature of ignorance and how to end suffering - How to live a life of peace and happiness

Yin Yoga
Yin-Yoga is the soothing balm, the elixir that inspires balance in stress-filled, over scheduled life. It is a calming, restorative practice.

Iyengar Yoga

Sequencing
Learn techniques to use in order to keep your class exciting and new. Build your class around an intention or central theme, sample sequences to support various levels of students and be effective teaching a mixed level class.

Hatha Yoga
Learn yoga postures at a slower pace. Working specifically with breath, alignment cues and hands on adjustments you will gain a greater understanding of the poses and find strength and confidence.

Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga focuses on deeply resting and revitalizing the physical body by providing support and comfort. These poses help trigger the parasympathetic nervous system, which is vital for maintaining a balance in the body. Various props such as bolsters, blankets, straps
