Through yoga nidra we learn how to live a contented life free of conflict, anxiety, fear and suffering. Skills that assist us in experiencing mastery during the most difficult times are cultivated, and an increased experience of joy and mental composure will pervade our everyday life.
Yoga Nidra is an investigative inner journey that takes the practitioner beyond limiting beliefs and conditioning, so that a contented life, free of conflict, anxiety, fear, dissatisfaction, and suffering can be lived. In its ultimate form, Yoga Nidra is used to unravel the sacred mystery of life and reveal the secret of enlightenment.
Private Yoga Nidra sessions are generally about 45 minutes to 1 hour long. We begin by acclimating to the environment, settling into the body, connecting with breath and opening to the present moment. The client is then encouraged to scan their body and locate a sensation they feel curiously drawn to. From here the meditative dialogue begins and questions are asked to help the client describe their experience with as much detail as possible. As the process deepens, negative emotions and core beliefs are paired with their opposites and witnessed through a deeper more expansive awareness. As deeper layers are seen by pure awareness, they begin to dissolve and a greater sense of peace is experienced. It is common for messages to be revealed that give comfort, confidence and guidance for future action steps.

Regina is the Director of the 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training Program. She is a registered nurse, holistic practitioner, yoga and meditation instructor and spiritual counselor. Her education in yoga consists of traditional methods of meditation, philosophy, trauma sensitive yoga, yoga therapy, Yin Yoga, Iyengar Yoga and postures, incorporated with current science and research.

Before coming to a private class, think about what you would like to address during your time with the teacher. Everyone comes for different reasons. Some students feel uncomfortable with a group but want to learn how to practice. Others have injuries or limitations and need extra support. We also get those who want to make sure they are doing the poses correctly and others just want to learn breathing and meditation. Whatever the reason, we have a wonderful group of skilled yoga teachers who will be happy to help you.
Reiki (Pronounced ray-key) means "universal life force energy". It's a healing technique used for relaxation, stress reduction and to promote healing. Reiki is gentle, soothing, and non-invasive. The client is treated through a series of specific hand positions placed gently on or above the body. Reiki energy flows through the practitioner, manifesting a heightened feeling of warmth. The Reiki practitioner merely serves as a vessel of healing.
Blockages of energy within our bodies can make us feel slow, depressed, and even sick. Reiki therapy works by re-balancing our energy system, on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. Reiki continues to gain acceptance into the medical community as a meaningful, cost-effective approach to promoting healing.
What to expect: A reiki session is administered via "laying on of hands" to the recipient. Reiki can be received either lying down or in a comfortable seated position. Unlike other healing treatments, the recipient remains fully dressed, as the Reiki energy will pass through clothing. The Reiki Master places their hands gently on or above the body (based on recipient preference) and moves them in a specific sequence along the body starting with head. Each hand position can be held for several minutes. Though you may not feel anything during a treatment, many people feel deep relaxation, peace, warmth, tingling sensations and radiant energy. Many people experience emotional release as well.

Diane is a recent graduate of Darshana's 200-hour Teacher Training Program, a reiki practitioner, and a public relations specialist. Within a few months of taking her first yoga class in 2014, she felt a strong desire to become a yoga teacher to help bring what she has experienced to others - a healthier outlook and approach to life in every way possible, together with a more balanced and grounded center that comes as a result of regular yoga practice.
Specialty Therapeutic Massage

This acupressure based massage focuses on specific areas of concern or pain rather than the whole body. This unique treatment uses moderate pressure to target areas of discomfort. This treatment is useful for conditions involving shoulders, elbows, wrist, hands, neck, hips, legs and back. Please wear loose fitting clothes for these sessions.
Regina has been in the healing arts for decades. She is a registered nurse, licensed massage therapist and a yoga teacher. Her love for yoga and healing has initiated her founding the Yoga Darshana Center and creating East Neck Yoga and Wellness Center. She has enjoyed caring for the caregiver and helping those who help themselves. Her healing skills are focused and effective.
